ICD Loni at Ghaziabad in the National Capital Region is managed and operated by Worlds Window Infrastructure & Logistics Private Limited (WWILPL) - a strategic alliance partner of Central Warehouse Corporation (CWC). In a short span of three years, ICD Loni has scaled great heights in terms of volume handled and services rendered to its customers – Rail Operators, Importers, Exporters, Freight Forwarders, and CHAs. It has proved itself to be one of the best managed logistics hub in the North India. The container depot is all set to capture a significant market share in the container handling, warehousing, and logistics supply chain.
ICD Loni is located near Delhi border in Ghaziabad district of UP and is surrounded by the manufacturing hubs like Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kundli, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Meerut and other part of western UP.
The ICD started its operations on 11th March, 2007 and within a year the ICD has attracted sizeable traffic and presently our monthly throughput is about 12000 TEUs.
WWILPL plans to develop an Integrated Logistics Hub at Loni, where besides EXIM and domestic freight handling and transportation , specialized warehousing, value-added services, office space and social amenities would be provided. The integrated Logistic Hub would offer world-class facilities and services for all types of cargo and containers for domestic as well as for international movement.
At present ICD Loni has 27.5 Acres of Customs bonded area which includes 2.08 Lac Sq Ft. of fully covered and developed warehousing space. 96 acres of adjacent land has been acquired for development of ICD related facilities and part of it has already been developed. The present infrastructure is equipped to handle up to 20,000 TEUs per month, having 2,730 ground slots i.e. 900 for notified area and 1,830 for Non- notified area. It is fully functional for clearance of imports, exports and Domestic containers. Truck and trailer parking area has been developed to facilitate the movement and parking of 500 trucks/trailers. Separate empty container parking yard has been developed. The entire facility is well planned to minimize congestion and handling of containers.
ICD Loni is fully insured including its warehouses, equipment and office buildings. ICD Loni also has container washing, cleaning and fumigation facilities, computerized cargo management system with internet facility. Infrastructure is created specifically to handle refrigerated containers with 140 reefer plug points and 100% power back up. For smooth and efficient operation, it has Seven Linde Reach Stackers, 2 Hydras, enough number of forklifts and Terminal trailers.
Through E-filling systems, customers directly interact with the ICD from remote locations. Rail wagon examination facility is one of the salient features at ICD Loni. Dual security system with separate entry and exit has been created to ensure the hassle free movements of containers.
The container train operators operating their trains from Loni included Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), APL IndiaLinx, Boxtrans Logistics (I) Services Pvt. Ltd., Hind Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (HTPL) and ETA Engineering Pvt. Ltd. Some of the major shipping lines who are functional and move their cargo from ICD Loni are American President Line (APL), Mediterranean Shipping co. (MSC), HAPAG LLYOD, Emirates Shipping Agencies (ESA), Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), and LICL. Some of the major export and import goods which are moving smoothly from ICD Loni are E-Goods, Almonds, Furniture, Steel Consignments, Garments, Rice, Meat products, Waste Paper, and Newsprint.
ICD Loni has fully secured safety system in the form of CCTV cameras with night vision special forms. In addition, ICD Loni has the latest fire safety equipment installed, provided by “CEASFIRE” who are internationally acclaimed. The investments on safety and security have made ICD Loni one of the safest ICDs in India. In addition, ICD Loni is environment friendly ICD.
ICD-Loni recently added another feather to its cap by getting ABS quality evaluation certificates i.e. ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management, ISO 14001: 2004 for Environment Management and OHSAS 18001:2007 for Health and Safety Management.
EDI facility has been installed recently at ICD Loni and is ready to serve the customer needs more efficiently.
Connectivity and roads surrounding the ICD are suitable for container truck or trailer operation to/from the ICD. Considering heavy traffic flow, the UP government has sanctioned further improvements to road infrastructure including widening the existing roads.
